It suits practitioners and early-career professionals seeking a broad managerial toolkit or a focused specialization through elective pathways.
The curriculum spans 31.5–42 credits depending on a student’s prior business coursework and includes core areas in business foundations, analytics, strategy, ethics and leadership. Students build a customized program of study with 15 elective credits that can be taken across the Graduate School of Management or, with advisor approval, elsewhere across Marquette University.
The MBA is organized into several core blocks and electives:
Specialization areas listed include Business and Managerial Analytics, Leadership, Finance, Health Systems Leadership, International Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management and Economics. Recent elective examples from the program include courses such as Character Driven Leadership, Negotiations, Project Management, Marketing Analytics, SQL, Python Programming, R Programming and health systems leadership topics like Health Care Advocacy and Quality Improvement.
Admission evaluates prior academic preparation and may grant waivers for Business Essentials or Quantitative Analysis when applicants present transcript-documented, comparable coursework (generally a grade of B or better for Business Essentials completed within the past ten years). Other admissions prerequisites and procedures are handled through the Graduate School of Management admissions process.
The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for leadership and managerial roles across functions—strategy, analytics, finance, marketing, supply chain and health systems leadership are explicit pathways. Students often combine MBA electives with courses in data science, communications or health systems leadership to align the degree with specific career goals in industry, healthcare, consulting or organizational leadership.
The program references tuition and financial aid resources through the Graduate School of Management; prospective students should consult the school’s admissions and financial aid offices for scholarships, assistantships, employer partnership programs and specific funding opportunities. Advisor conversations can also help align elective choices with funded opportunities across the university.
