The BBA in Management and Operations combines core business subjects with specialised modules that focus on the design, control and improvement of organisational processes. In the early years you study foundational courses such as Principles of Management, Financial Accounting, Managerial Economics, Marketing, Business Law and Business Statistics. Later-stage and major-specific modules typically include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Quality Management and Continuous Improvement, Business Analytics for Operations, Purchasing and Procurement, and Process Design.

Students normally complete a mix of lectures, case studies, computer-based simulation and team projects. Many programmes offer a capstone or practicum where students apply operations concepts to a real organisation, and there are opportunities to take electives in areas such as human resource management, logistics, information systems and entrepreneurship to tailor the degree to particular career interests.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a recognised secondary school diploma or equivalent. Admissions typically consider academic transcripts, personal statement and, where provided, standardised test scores. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency through recognised tests or approved alternatives; FDU also accepts evidence of prior study in English for exemption in some cases.

Depending on the campus and applicant background, additional requirements can include letters of recommendation, a résumé or interview. Mature or transfer students may be admitted on the basis of prior college credit or relevant work experience; credit transfer is assessed against programme learning outcomes and course equivalencies.

Typical entry-level positions include operations coordinator, logistics analyst, supply chain planner, production supervisor and project analyst.
