What you'll study

This programme covers the core academic foundations required of a qualifying law degree alongside opportunities for comparative and international study during a full academic year spent at a partner university overseas. In the first two years you will typically take compulsory modules in areas such as Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Public Law (constitutional and administrative law), Property Law, Equity and Trusts, and European and Comparative Law. Legal skills modules—legal research, legal writing, advocacy and mooting—are integrated throughout to develop practical and academic abilities.

The year abroad is usually taken in the third year and involves study at a recognised overseas partner institution. You will follow modules selected with approval from Liverpool to ensure they complement your degree and contribute to the LLB learning outcomes; options often include comparative constitutional law, international human rights, European Union law, commercial law and public international law. You will return to Liverpool for the final year to complete advanced and optional modules which may include Commercial Law, Company Law, Family Law, Criminal Litigation and Evidence, Human Rights, Environmental Law, and specialised seminars in topics such as technology and the law or law and global governance.
