What you'll study

The programme provides a comprehensive introduction to the physiological, biomechanical and behavioural aspects of human movement. Core content typically covers anatomy and musculoskeletal physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control and learning, sport and exercise psychology, and research methods. Practical and laboratory courses develop skills in assessment, testing and data interpretation, and students usually take modules in measurement and evaluation, exercise prescription for healthy and clinical populations, and health behaviour change.

Most students follow a structured sequence over the degree, combining foundational science courses (such as human biology, chemistry and statistics) with progressively specialised kinesiology subjects. The degree often incorporates experiential components such as supervised practicum placements, community-based projects or a final-year capstone or research project that apply classroom learning to real-world settings.

Entry requirements

Entry is at undergraduate level and normally requires a complete secondary school diploma with strong performance in science and mathematics subjects. Typical prerequisites include senior-level biology and chemistry and/or physics, as well as English; some programmes also expect competence in mathematics or statistics. Admission decisions are based on academic achievement and the strength of the overall application.

There are pathways for transfer students from college-level programmes and for mature applicants; international students must meet the university's English-language requirements and provide equivalent academic transcripts. Where applicable, competitive programmes may require supplementary information such as a personal statement, references or evidence of relevant volunteer or work experience.
