What you'll study

The programme offers a blend of core and optional modules that build rigorous analytical and empirical skills. You will study advanced microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, applied econometrics and quantitative methods, and research design. • Dissertation: an independent research project supervised by academic staff, allowing you to specialise in a topic that matches your interests and career goals. The dissertation develops skills in literature review, empirical strategy, data handling and presentation of findings.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally need an undergraduate degree at honours level in economics, a related social science or a numerate discipline. Typical offers expect a good upper-second class degree (or international equivalent); applicants with strong quantitative aptitude and relevant professional experience may also be considered. Prior study in econometrics, statistics and intermediate micro/macro is desirable. All applicants whose first language is not English will need to meet Keele's English language requirements.
