What you'll study

This programme brings together human and physical strands of geography so you study landscape and environmental processes alongside social, economic and political dimensions of place. Teaching mixes lectures, seminars, practical laboratory sessions and extensive fieldwork in the UK and abroad. You will develop skills in spatial data collection and analysis, mapping and geographic information systems (GIS), quantitative and qualitative research methods, and environmental monitoring.

• Core physical topics: geomorphology, hydrology, climatology, environmental change and processes, field-based monitoring techniques.
• Core human topics: urban and regional processes, political and cultural geography, development and sustainability, population and migration, and economic geography.

Entry requirements

Keele seeks applicants with a solid academic background and evidence of numeracy and communication skills. Typical offers use standard UK qualifications (A levels, BTEC, Scottish Highers, Irish Leaving Certificate) or international equivalents such as the International Baccalaureate.
