What you'll study

The programme provides a grounding in core economic theory and quantitative methods across the three-year honours degree, with opportunities to specialise in applied areas. In the early stages you will study core topics such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics for economists and introductory econometrics to build your analytical toolkit. As you progress you will take intermediate and advanced modules in econometrics and data analysis, and select from options including public economics, international trade, development economics, behavioural economics, labour economics, environmental and resource economics, industrial organisation and financial markets.

Entry requirements

Typical entry is based on successful completion of upper secondary qualifications. Applicants from the UK usually present A-levels (or equivalent) with preferred grades in quantitative subjects; acceptable applicants often include mathematics A-level or a strong GCSE/IGCSE in mathematics. International qualifications such as the IB diploma or recognised international school qualifications are accepted in line with NTU admissions policies.
