A coordinated dual-degree program combining Marquette’s MBA with an MA in Political Science (or International Affairs). It suits students who want graduate-level training in both management and political/international analysis and who are prepared to meet admissions requirements for both schools.

What you'll study

Students complete the required coursework for each degree while identifying up to 9 approved political science or international affairs credits to count toward MBA elective requirements and up to 9 MBA credits to count toward the MA requirements. In total a maximum of 18 credits may be double counted between the two degrees. The combined counting reduces the overall course load compared with taking both degrees independently; the MBA requires 33–39 credits and the MA requires 30 credits, with 9 credits from each program eligible to apply to the other.

Entry requirements

Applicants must submit separate applications to both the Graduate School of Management and the Graduate School and meet each program’s admissions standards. Although the applications are similar, each program requires its own completed application; indicate on the second application if you have already paid the application fee. Admission is granted by each school independently.

Career prospects

The dual credential combines management and political/international affairs preparation, positioning graduates for roles that bridge public policy, government relations, international organizations, consulting, and management roles in firms or NGOs where understanding political context and business strategy are both important.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Tuition is charged per graduate credit at the university’s graduate credit rate, which applies to courses taken in both programs. Financial support, scholarships, or assistantships are handled through the university and the respective schools; prospective students should consult each school’s admissions and financial-aid resources for specific funding opportunities.
