An English-taught BEng focused on designing environmentally aware, smart products and their production. Suited to students who want hands-on mechanical design skills, experience with CAD and industry projects, and a focus on sustainability in product life cycles.

What you'll study

Core professional studies begin with introductions to mechanical engineering and applied mathematics and physics to prepare for discipline subjects. Key study topics and learning activities named in the programme include:

  • technical mechanics, strength of materials and structural testing
  • manufacturing and production engineering
  • mechanical design and CAD-based 3D modelling
  • robotics and product development process and project management
  • material technology with emphasis on solutions that reduce environmental impact and life-cycle costs
  • practical tasks: preparing technical documentation, producing prototypes and using modern technical software
  • project work and assignments in cooperation with industry, including a company-led project in the spring of year three

Entry requirements

The programme scope is 240 ECTS over four years and is offered as a daytime programme. Admissions are handled through national application procedures; the published application periods include a joint application (7.1.2026–21.1.2026), an additional selection (3.8.2026–6.8.2026) and a separate application round (30.9.2025–21.10.2025). Career prospects

Graduates work across industry in roles such as design, production development, sales engineering, customer support, supervision and teaching. Typical job titles listed by the programme include machine/plant engineer, design engineer, product development engineer, mechanical designer, sales engineer, project engineer, quality engineer, project manager, foreman and sustainability specialist. The degree is presented as a route into engineering expert and leadership positions and students frequently use project placements and the thesis to transition into employer roles.
