A professionally-oriented English-language engineering degree focused on energy systems and environmental processes. Suited to students who want technical competence in energy production, distribution and efficiency, combined with understanding of sustainability, regulation and project work.

What you'll study

Initial courses introduce fundamentals in engineering and natural sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry) together with language and communication studies. Professional studies emphasise transport phenomena, energy engineering processes, renewable energy, environmental engineering processes and principles of sustainable production and consumption. Business studies bring economic context to technical decision‑making, and students learn to use design software and to consider how regulation and policy shape energy technology development. Teaching methods include on‑campus lectures, online study, workshops, project work, assignments, written reports and presentations, and the curriculum can be personalised to develop chosen specialisms.

Entry requirements

The programme is offered as an English‑language, daytime degree with application via the stated application periods. Admissions use published selection criteria and entrance examinations; specific application windows on the course page include a joint application period and a supplementary round. Contact admissions@oamk.fi for application details and opintovastaava Antti Kemppainen (antti.kemppainen@oamk.fi) for questions about curriculum and teaching arrangements.

Career prospects
