What you'll study

Study begins with engineering fundamentals and applied mathematics and physics, then progresses to mechanical-engineering subjects and practical skills. Key study topics and skills include:

• technical mechanics, strength of materials and structural testing
• manufacturing techniques and modern manufacturing technologies
• mechanical design, robotics and management of the product development process
• use of CAD & CAE software, 3D modelling, technical documentation and digital prototyping
• material technologies with a focus on sustainability and lifetime cost approaches
• advanced data analysis to develop efficient solutions
• project management, development projects and workshops carried out with industry partners
• basic Finnish language studies and multicultural teamwork on an international campus
• opportunities for student exchange or double-degree study at partner universities

Entry requirements

The degree is offered as a day implementation lasting four years (240 ECTS). The programme has specified application periods and admission criteria; published application windows include a rolling admission and several fixed rounds (examples given on the course page include 7–21 January 2026, 30 September–21 October 2025 and a supplementary round 3–6 August 2026). Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to analyse mechanical problems and adopt professional engineering practices.
