A broad undergraduate engineering degree offered through the Faculty of Integrated Technologies, delivered for the August intake only. It suits students aiming for a foundation in engineering with options to focus on chemical/process topics or on one of several general-engineering concentrations.

What you'll study

The degree provides core engineering education with pathway-specific focus depending on the chosen major or concentration. Available specialisations stated on the course page are:

  • Chemical and Process Engineering
  • General Engineering with concentration in Information and Communication Systems Engineering
  • General Engineering with concentration in Manufacturing Systems Engineering
  • General Engineering with concentration in Energy Systems Engineering

Entry requirements

English proficiency: Grade C6 in GCE O Level English; or Grade B in IGCSE English as a Second Language; or IELTS 6.0; or TOEFL overall 550; or Band B2 in the UBD English Proficiency Test.

Academic qualifications:

  • 'A' Levels: minimum 260 points for three A Level passes in relevant subjects, including Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry.
  • International Baccalaureate: minimum 30 points with at least 5 in relevant subjects at Higher Level, including Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry.
  • Diploma/Level 5/HND/Advanced Diploma: considered case by case if the HND is acceptable and with approval by the Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Technologies.

All candidates who meet the academic and English requirements must pass an interview.

The programme prepares graduates for engineering roles aligned with their chosen major or concentration. As a faculty-level engineering degree, it equips students with foundational technical knowledge applicable to chemical/process industries or to sectors aligned with communications, manufacturing or energy systems.
