A general Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam that is delivered through the Faculty of Science with multiple major options. Suited to students who want a science degree with a choice of specialisation (Applied Physics, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics or Geosciences) and who meet competitive entry thresholds.

What you'll study

Study is structured around one of the five major programmes: Applied Physics, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics or Geosciences. The curriculum follows Faculty of Science requirements for a BSc degree and will include discipline-specific modules appropriate to the chosen major (for example core science subjects and practicals relevant to biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics or geoscience).

Entry requirements

Applicants must meet UBD English proficiency standards plus academic minima. English requirement: at least Credit C6 in GCE O Level English; or Grade B in IGCSE English (as a Second Language); or IELTS 6.0; or TOEFL overall 550; or pass the UBD Bridging English Course or Band B2 in the UBD English Proficiency Test.

  • GCE A Level: pre-2017 UCAS tariff — minimum 160 points for two A-level passes or 220 points for three; UCAS tariff — minimum 64 points for two A-level passes or 88 for three. One A-level must be a relevant science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Geography) at minimum grade B.
  • International Baccalaureate: minimum 24 points with at least five points in each of two relevant Science subjects at Higher Level.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): minimum five merits in science-related core modules (excluding Communication skills) and at least Grade C in Mathematics at GCE O Level.
  • UniBridge: completion of the UniBridge programme including the module "Sciences for University Study".
  • Applicants with prior work experience: at least five years' work experience plus at least one A-level in a relevant science OR five merits/distinctions in HND or equivalent.
