What you'll study

Coursework focuses on implementing STEAM methodology in classroom practice, aligning pedagogical beliefs with day-to-day instruction, curriculum design, and assessment. Classes are delivered with small cohorts and include online conferencing, webinars and opportunities for real-time interaction. Students may opt into an optional summer residency featuring hands-on activities and community-based learning in Keene, NH.

Entry requirements

Applicants complete an online application with program essays, a resume/CV, and a non-refundable $50 application fee. Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions are required. Two professional or academic letters of recommendation (not from relatives) must be submitted. Selected applicants will interview with a faculty member in person, by phone, or via Skype. GRE or other standardized tests are not required. There are additional requirements for international applicants and for applicants without a bachelor’s degree.

Graduates are prepared to apply STEAM methodologies in K–12 classrooms and to take on instructional-design, curriculum-development, or leadership roles within schools and informal learning settings. The program is intended for educators who wish to deepen classroom practice and lead STEAM-focused initiatives.

Scholarships & funding angle

Antioch University New England provides financial-aid guidance and reports most students use some form of aid (loans, scholarships, grants). The campus offers a 10% tuition discount for groups of three or more students from the same school or district attending AUNE Education MEd or certificate programs together. Tuition is charged per credit (MEd rate shown as $840 per credit) and additional cost details and aid options are available through admissions and financial-aid offices.
