What you'll study

Alongside core MBA courses, the Nonprofit Leadership concentration consists of three 3-credit courses focused on nonprofit practice:

• HSA-5113: Organizational Leadership and Governance — nonprofit board governance, roles and responsibilities of boards, executive leadership, staff, volunteers, and factors affecting organizational effectiveness and mission delivery.
• HSA-5210: Program Planning and Evaluation — purposes and strategies for program planning; theories, concepts, approaches and processes for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that aim to effect change and build community capacity.
• MNM-5210: Development and Fundraising — fundamentals of resource development and fundraising, preparing fundraising plans, and donor acknowledgement and recognition.

Students also earn digital micro-credentials after key foundational courses (including Human Resources Management, Marketing Management & Analytics, Principles of Triple Bottom Line and Sustainability, and Leading High-Performing Teams). After completing 50% of coursework, students receive a graduate certificate in Sustainable Business Leadership.

Entry requirements

• Online application (no application fee).
• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; degree must be completed prior to the program start.
• Current resume.
• Essay describing personal and professional goals, interest in the program, and timing.
• GMAT/GRE scores are accepted but not required.
• International applicants may need an English proficiency assessment or TOEFL: 550 paper, 214 computer, or 79 internet.

Graduates will be equipped to work in nonprofit management and leadership roles where governance, program design and evaluation, and fundraising are central. The concentration prepares candidates for positions that require mission-focused decision-making and nonprofit-specific operational skills.
