What you'll study

The program requires a minimum of 120 semester credit hours for the BA, with at least 30 semester (or 45 quarter) credits completed at Antioch. Study is built from an Interdisciplinary Core plus Management professional core courses and an area-of-focus elective block.

• Interdisciplinary Core: Empowering Your Purpose and Voice; Experience and Expression; Reading and Writing in the 21st Century; Culture, Conflict, and Social Research; Ecology, Technology and Society.
• Management Professional Core: Accounting and Budgeting; Business Law; Economics (Micro and Macro) (note: Healthcare focus students should take HWL-4000 Economics, Politics, and Access in Healthcare); Strategic Marketing; Ethical Issues in Management; Organizational Behavior; Senior Project.
• Area of Focus — Data Analytics (sample electives): Business Systems Analysis; Database Management and Data Warehousing; Foundations of Analytics; Advanced Analytics.
• Area of Focus — Healthcare Administration (sample electives): Fundamentals of Healthcare Administration; Experiential Learning in Healthcare Administration; Economics, Politics, and Access in Healthcare; Gender and Multicultural Issues in Healthcare.
• Area of Focus — Project Management (sample electives): Human Resource Management; Project Management Essentials; Quality Management; Contracting and Purchasing; Project Management cost/scheduling, quality, and risk topics are noted as available within electives.

Entry requirements

Applicants to the bachelor completion program must have at least 24 semester credits of transferable undergraduate coursework from a regionally accredited institution and submit a goal statement. Two letters of recommendation may be requested. Application materials are submitted to Antioch University Admissions; all materials become part of the applicant file and are not returned.

Career prospects

The curriculum targets immediately applicable business skills across functions such as marketing, human resources, general management and project management. The program lists possible job titles including Human Resources Specialist, Human Resources Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager, Project Manager, Public Relations Specialist, Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist. Project management is highlighted as a growth area valued by many organizations.

Scholarships & funding angle

Tuition is listed at $520 per semester credit hour for bachelor’s completion students. Antioch notes a generous transfer policy that can substantially lower the total amount needed to finish the degree; by applying prior credits students may complete the program for under $20,000 depending on transfer credit and chosen focus.
