What you'll study

Coursework balances management theory with applied techniques for running engineering projects, teams, and technical operations. Students develop competencies in project planning, technical decision-making, and aligning technical work with organizational goals while improving communication and leadership in complex settings.

• ENGM 600. Theory and Applications in Engineering Management – 3 credits: Management theories and concepts for technical contexts; the engineering manager’s role in organizational performance; motivation and leadership methods.
• ENGM 603. Engineering Financial Management and Accounting – 3 credits: Financial decision-making for corporations and limits of accounting information; topics include ROI, ROA, asset management, capital planning, budgets, controls, taxes, profit centers, and financial and risk analysis.
• ENGM 612. Technical Project Management – 3 credits: Developing and managing engineering/technology projects including proposal preparation, resource and cost estimating, project planning/organizing/controlling (network diagrams and related techniques), and project manager responsibilities such as team building, conflict resolution, and contract negotiation.
• ENGM 634. Supply Chain Analytics – 3 credits: Quantitative methods for managing supply and demand networks; demand forecasting factors; cost–benefit analysis to optimize production and distribution.
