Entry requirements

Admission to the DeVoe Division of Business is required before taking 300–400 level business courses. To apply for division admission students must:

• Have completed 40 total credit hours
• Have completed these courses: BUS-100, ACC-201, ACC-202, ECO-212, ECO-213, MNG-210, MKG-210
• Hold a 2.5 overall GPA and a 2.5 GPA within the DeVoe Division of Business
• Have a minimum grade of C in all courses required for a major and minor
• Satisfy general education requirements for writing competency, mathematics and communication
• Submit a portfolio (including a résumé and at least one showcase piece or project from the required courses)
• Submit an individual admission essay (prompt provided by the division)
• Complete a division interview

The student must file an Application for Admission to the Division; faculty review may deny admission for unmet behavioral expectations. Transfer students may petition for admission if they meet substantially the same criteria. To remain in the division, students must maintain the 2.5 overall and division GPAs and the minimum course grades; failure may require course repetition or withdrawal from the division. Transfer-credit rules and minimum IWU residency for business majors also apply as described by the DeVoe Division.
