Entry requirements

Students must be admitted to the DeVoe Division of Business before taking 300–400 level division courses (with an exception allowing accounting majors to take 300-level accounting prior to admission). To apply for admission to the division students must:

  • Have completed 40 total credit hours.
  • Have completed BUS-100, ACC-201, ACC-202, ECO-212, ECO-213, MNG-210 and MKG-210.
  • Maintain a 2.5 overall GPA and a 2.5 GPA within the DeVoe Division of Business.
  • Earn at least a grade of C in all courses required for the major and minor.
  • Satisfy general education competencies for writing, mathematics and communication.
  • Submit a portfolio (including a résumé and at least one showcase piece from listed courses), an individual admission essay, and complete a division interview.

The division reviews applications and reserves the right to deny admission for failure to meet behavioral expectations; transfer students may petition for admission if they satisfy substantially the same criteria. To continue in the division, students must maintain the GPA and course-grade standards described above.
