Graduates are expected to be able to practice Christian spiritual disciplines, articulate orthodox doctrine, apply inductive Bible study methods, communicate in pastoral care contexts, and demonstrate leadership and management competencies for congregational and non-profit settings.

Entry requirements

Students must meet the university's general education competencies and the School of Theology and Ministry requires formal admission to professional majors. Applicants should complete prescribed prerequisite courses, begin the application-to-major process by the end of the sophomore year (60 credit hours), and meet minimum GPA standards: a cumulative GPA of 2.25 and a 2.50 GPA in major coursework. Admission materials include an application form, a written essay and references; some candidates may also be interviewed. Continuation requires maintaining the same GPA thresholds; the faculty may withdraw students who do not meet standards of Christian character or professional fitness.

Typical roles graduates move into include lead or solo pastor, teaching pastor, executive pastor and non-profit director. The degree also prepares students for other ministry-related positions across various ministry contexts.
