What you'll study

This programme combines advanced coursework in construction management with a substantial research or applied project component. Core topics typically include construction project management, contract and procurement law, construction economics and cost control, risk and quality management, and building information modelling (BIM) and digital construction techniques. You will also study research methods and evidence-based practice to prepare for a dissertation or a major applied project.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a relevant bachelor’s degree (for example in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, surveying or a related discipline) or a recognised professional qualification plus significant professional experience in the construction industry. Applicants with substantial practical experience but without a formal degree may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All applicants should demonstrate an ability to undertake postgraduate study, which may be shown through prior academic performance or professional practice. International applicants must meet Massey University’s English language requirements through a recognised test or equivalent evidence of English proficiency.
