What you'll study

The programme combines core project management theory with applied tools and techniques. Typical modules cover project planning and control (scheduling, cost management and earned value), risk and quality management, procurement and contract strategy, stakeholder and change management, and leadership for projects. You will study both traditional plan-driven approaches and contemporary methods such as agile and hybrid delivery frameworks. Modules on project governance, ethics and sustainability explore how projects align with organisational strategy and regulatory environments.

Study is delivered through lectures, case studies, group work and simulation exercises that reflect real-world project environments. The degree culminates in a substantial research dissertation or an industry-focused consultancy/project-based capstone that requires you to apply methods learned to a practical problem or employer brief.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to have a good undergraduate degree (equivalent to a UK 2:1) in any discipline. Candidates with a 2:2 plus relevant professional experience, or strong professional qualifications in a related subject, may also be considered. Admissions typically take professional experience into account for applicants from industry; evidence of managerial potential or responsibility on projects strengthens an application.

For applicants whose first language is not English, a recognised English language qualification is required. Applicants should consult the programme admissions guidance for the current acceptable language qualifications and scores.

Career prospects

Graduates move into roles such as project manager, programme manager, PMO analyst or lead, change manager, project controls specialist, procurement and contract manager, and management consultant.
