The program emphasizes managing, analyzing and protecting healthcare data across professional settings. Students complete coursework and participate in professional practice experiences that place them in real healthcare environments. The HIIM program aligns with AHIMA pathways and prepares eligible graduates to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential.

Entry requirements

Admissions guidance is provided through the College’s admissions office; the program supports seamless transfer for RHIT holders and CAHIIM‑accredited associate degree completers and awards credit for relevant certifications, experience and challenge exams. Prospective students are encouraged to consult an advisor and the College’s admissions resources for specific application criteria.

Career prospects

Graduates move into roles across health information management and informatics, including positions such as director of revenue services, data analyst, quality partner, privacy and security coordinator, clinical informatics analyst and physician educator. The College reports strong short‑term outcomes for the reporting period Aug. 1, 2024–July 31, 2025: 100% employment within one year among responding graduates, 100% of surveyed employers would consider hiring program graduates, 100% of professional practice experience mentors judged graduates able to meet employer expectations, and an overall retention rate of 89%.
