See the degree grade →A three-year full-time undergraduate degree that builds core skills in management, strategy, marketing, HR, finance and international business. Suited to students aiming for entry-level professional roles in corporate, public sector, not‑for‑profit or entrepreneurial environments and to those who want the flexibility to specialise in areas such as information systems, accounting, marketing, aviation management or hospitality.
The program structure comprises 12 core units, 8 units from up to two specialisations (4 units per specialisation) and 4 electives. Core units listed in the course materials include:
Specialisations shown in the handbook (each made up of four units) include areas such as Information Systems (e.g. Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design and Use, Strategic Information Systems Management), Accounting (e.g. Principles of Financial Management, Accounting Principles and Practices), Marketing (e.g. Buyer Behaviour, Marketing Research, Marketing Communications), Aviation Management, Management, Digital Business, Hospitality Management and others. Electives may be chosen from Holmes’ bachelor units provided prerequisites are met; elective and specialisation offerings are subject to demand and may not be available every study period.
Academic entry requires successful completion of an Australian Year 12, a Certificate IV or equivalent, or an approved tertiary preparation or foundation program. English entry can be satisfied by successful completion of study in English at Australian Year 12 or higher, by study at a recognised Australian institution with at least a 50% pass rate in a recent semester, or by IELTS overall 6.0 with no band below 5.5. The course prepares graduates for a range of entry‑level business roles. Graduate positions listed by Holmes include Business Analyst, Marketing Coordinator, Human Resources Officer, Operations Supervisor, Project Coordinator and Entrepreneur/Small Business Owner.
