A one-semester accredited certificate that introduces the cultural, creative and commercial foundations of fashion business. Suited to school leavers or career changers who want a fast pathway into entry-level fashion roles or credit into a Bachelor of Fashion Business.

What you'll study

The certificate consists of two core units and two electives. Core units:

  • HF1201 The Fashion Cycle
  • HF1001 Visual Design Technologies

Elective options include (students choose two):

  • HF1004 Professional Communication and Ethics
  • HF1002 Textiles and Materials
  • HF1206 Fashion Finance and Accounting

Additional electives from the Bachelor of Fashion Business may be available after consultation with the Course Convenor. Assessments focus on assignments, journals and presentations to develop both academic and practical capabilities.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification is required. No ATAR is necessary. The course is available to domestic students only.

Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions across fashion business functions or to continue study with credit. Typical graduate roles identified by the course include:
