Entry requirements

Applicants must meet UBD's English requirement and one of the academic or experiential criteria below. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission; selection is competitive and applicants may be asked to attend tests or interviews.

  • English: at least Credit C6 in GCE O-Level English; or Grade B in IGCSE English as a Second Language; or IELTS 6.0; or TOEFL PBT 550; or TOEFL iBT 60; or Band B2 in the UBD English Proficiency Test.
  • Mathematics: at least Credit C6 in GCE O-Level Mathematics or Grade B in IGCSE Mathematics.
  • GCE A-Level: minimum UCAS tariff 160 points for two A-level passes or 200 points for three (pre-2017); or 64 points for two A-level passes or 80 points for three under the UCAS Tariff.
  • International Baccalaureate: diploma or certificate with minimum 24 points; at least 5 in two Higher Level relevant subjects, or 5,5,4 for three Higher Level relevant subjects.
  • HND/Advanced Diploma: relevant HND or equivalent recognised by Senate. A statistics or mathematics course passed with Merit or above at HND level can satisfy the mathematics requirement.
  • Other: first year of a bachelor degree from institutions recognised by Senate may be considered case-by-case.
  • Applicants with prior work experience: at least five years in related fields plus at least one GCE A-Level pass or equivalent in a relevant subject.
