Programme overview

This honours degree prepares students for supervisory and management roles across the hospitality and tourism sector. Core teaching blends operational knowledge (hotel and food & beverage management), leadership and entrepreneurship with analytical skills such as revenue management. The pathway specifically recognises the Hospitality Ontario College Diploma by granting credit for 21 courses, reducing time-to-degree completion to approximately two years for eligible diploma holders. The program includes opportunities for paid co-operative work terms and is eligible for a Post‑Graduation Work Permit.

What you'll study

Teaching covers both theoretical and applied topics relevant to hotels, restaurants and tourist services. Level 05 sample courses include:

• Cooperative Education and Job Readiness (GEP1001) — activities to prepare students for professional job search and workplace success.
• Culinary and Beverage Tourism (HOS6137) — study of culinary tourism and the role of food and beverage in travel experiences.
• Organizational Behaviour (HRM6118) — how individuals and groups interact within organizations to support productivity.
• Revenue Management in Hospitality and Tourism (MGT6117) — methods to anticipate demand and optimize revenue.
• Entrepreneurship (MGT6120) — identifying and evaluating current and emerging business opportunities.
• Elective example — French as a Second Language (Beginner 1, FLS3101) listed as an option.

Entry requirements

This pathway is intended for applicants who hold the Hospitality Ontario College Diploma. Graduates of that diploma receive credit for 21 courses toward the honours degree, shortening the program to roughly two years for those applicants. The program includes co-op components subject to academic eligibility and placement availability. Note: the last intake for this program is September 2026; students admitted by that date may complete the program.
