Entry requirements

The minor requires completion of 24 units (15 units required courses plus 9 elective units). Elective selections must include at least 3 units of upper-division HRT and students must meet prerequisites for any chosen courses.

Career prospects

The curriculum provides applied skills relevant to hotel and resort operations, food and beverage management, event planning, hospitality finance and marketing. Graduates carrying this minor into a primary major may pursue roles in lodging operations, restaurant and culinary management, event coordination, hospitality sales, revenue management and related supervisory positions.
