What you'll study

Courses span the practical spectrum of building for the web. Topics include creating and designing effective web pages, principles of website design and user experience (UI/UX) and tools, use of popular free platforms for layout and design, development skills that turn design into functioning sites, and an introduction to game development. Instructional materials are included with enrollment and courses focus on hands-on, real-world skills.

Entry requirements

All courses use open enrollment so you may register and start at multiple start dates throughout the year. Before registering you must ensure your computer and software meet the stated requirements: PC with Windows 8 or later, or Mac with macOS 12 or later; a modern browser (latest Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox preferred; Microsoft Edge and Safari compatible); Adobe Acrobat Reader; and that all required software is installed and operational before class begins. Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Tuition varies by course; most CEWD courses are listed at $129 each. A one-time, yearly non-refundable registration fee of $15 is charged at first registration of the year. Residency surcharges apply (an additional $5 per course for Maryland students and $10 per course for non-Maryland students). The CEWD office notes that financial-assistance options exist for eligible students, including CEWD scholarships, workforce development funding, program-specific aid, and payment-plan options; learners are encouraged to review available assistance and submit a Financial Assistance Request if needed.
