A practice-oriented seven‑semester Bachelor of Science that combines engineering fundamentals with business administration. It suits students who want technical grounding plus commercial skills and who prefer applied learning—labs, case studies and a supervised industry placement leading into the bachelor thesis.

What you'll study

Core study modules are delivered semester‑by‑semester to build a shared foundation in mathematics, natural sciences, engineering labs and business topics. Early semesters cover Mathematics 1 and 2, natural sciences, engineering laboratory practice, Grundlagen der Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Rechnungswesen und Controlling, Betriebswirtschaftliche Informationssysteme, Recht, Supply Chain Management, Personalmanagement, Marketing and Produktionsmanagement.

  • Semester 1 highlights: Mathematik 1, Naturwissenschaftliche Grundlagen, Grundlagen der Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Grundlagen der Nachhaltigkeit.
  • Semester 2–4 highlights: Ingenieurwissenschaftliches Labor, Rechnungswesen und Controlling 1 & 2, Betriebliche Informationssysteme, Recht, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Produktionsmanagement, Projekt‑ und Prozessmanagement and Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten.
  • Semester 5–6: Wahlpflichtmodule (six in total across semesters 5 and 6) let you deepen a chosen specialisation; examples of elective topics include Unternehmensplanspiel, Qualitätsmanagement, Digitale Transformation, Lean Management, Advanced Project Management, Life Cycle Assessment and XLab‑Lernfabrik.
  • Semester 7: Berufspraktische Phase (industry placement), Bachelorarbeit and Kolloquium.

The three formal specialisations provide structured technical electives:

  • Electrotechnics (Elektrotechnik): modules such as Elektrotechnik 1–3, Informatik 1–2, Digitaltechnik, Rechnerarchitektur, Mess‑/Steuer‑/Regeltechnik and Energiewirtschaft, plus a project in Elektrotechnik.
  • Mechanical Engineering (Maschinenbau): modules such as Technische Mechanik 1–2, Werkstoffkunde, Fertigungsverfahren, Konstruktionslehre and CAD, Maschinenelemente, Konstruktionssystematik, Technische Thermodynamik, Handhabungs‑ und Montagetechnik and a project.
  • Sustainable Life Cycle Management (SLCM): modules such as nachhaltiges Ressourcenmanagement, Umweltkostenrechnung/Materialflussrechnung, Life Cycle Assessment, XLab‑Lernfabrik and an SLCM fallstudie.
