What you'll study

The curriculum blends architectural design and technical subjects. Core teaching in the first three semesters is partly shared with the Bachelor in Civil Engineering to foster interdisciplinary understanding.

• Design and representation: Entwerfen B1–B6, Grundlagen Darstellung, Gestaltungs- und Farblehre, Entwerfen im urbanen Kontext
• Construction and materials: Baukonstruktion 1–5, Baustoffkunde (with practical), Holzbau Projekt, Technischer Ausbau
• Engineering fundamentals: Technische Mechanik 1, Bauphysik, Grundlagen des Tragwerksentwurfs
• Management, law and practice: Projektsteuerung, Ausschreibung/Vergabe/Abrechnung, Baurecht und Baubetriebswirtschaft
• Supporting subjects: Bauinformatik, Grundlagen Gebäude, Stadt- und Quartiersplanung, Städtebau, Architekturgeschichte and Bauaufnahme
• Final project: Bachelor thesis (12 CP for submission, 3 CP for presentation/colloquium)

Elective and special modules include topics such as Digitales Planen und Bauen, Nachhaltigkeit (Baustoffkunde, Bauphysik, Energieeffizientes Bauen), Parametrisches Modellieren, Brandschutz, Design Build, Landschaftsarchitektur, Ressourcenschonendes Konstruieren, and others listed as Wahlpflichtmodule. Entry requirements

Formal admission follows Numerus Clausus procedures. The programme expects enthusiasm for architecture, artistic and design interest, spatial imagination and basic technical inclination—skills useful for work on design projects, construction details and material/energy considerations. The course language is German.

Career prospects

Graduates typically work in architectural and planning offices. Other common career paths include project development, construction management, urban planning, monument conservation, public sector building authorities, construction industry roles and positions in the real estate sector. Architecture graduates also find roles in specialist fields such as building research, energy consulting, CAD specialisation, visualisation, and construction law/expertise.
