What you'll study

The program offers licensure tracks for:

• Adolescent Young Adult (Grades 7–12) in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth/Space Science
• Middle Childhood (Grades 4–9) with dual content areas in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science
• Intervention Specialist, Mild–Moderate (Special Education K–12)

All coursework is online and asynchronous. Completion requires the successful passing of Ohio assessments: the OAE content exam and the OAE Assessment of Pedagogy, plus satisfactory performance in the clinical practicum.

Entry requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Undergraduate GPA of 2.75
• Transcript content audit performed by program staff
• Admission to clinical practicum requires a program GPA of 3.0, passage of the OAE content exam, and meeting other program prerequisites

Career prospects

Graduates leave eligible for an initial Ohio teaching license and may teach in the grade ranges tied to their licensure track (Grades 4–9, 7–12, or K–12 for Intervention Specialist). The program emphasizes licensure-readiness through assessment passage and clinical experience; Ohio credentials are commonly transferable to many other states.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Tuition is charged per credit hour at $495. Credit requirements vary by track (typically 20 to 30 credits); additional expenses may apply if a candidate lacks prior content coursework.
