What you'll study

The programme combines core graduate-level nursing theory with concentration-specific modules and a supervised clinical or research practicum. Core topics typically include advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, health systems and policy, leadership and change management, evidence-based practice and research methods.

• Nursing Administration concentration: organisational leadership in health care, financial and human resource management for nursing, quality and safety, strategic planning and health policy implementation, and a practicum in nursing management or executive leadership.
• Nursing Research concentration: research design and methodology, biostatistics, qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, grant writing and dissemination, and a supervised research project or thesis in collaboration with faculty.
• Clinical Nursing concentration: advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning, advanced therapeutics, specialty-focused practicum placements, clinical simulation and a practice-based capstone addressing a real-world clinical problem.

Most students complete a culminating experience such as a capstone project, thesis or substantial practicum that integrates classroom learning with applied practice or scholarly inquiry. Teaching methods include seminars, clinical supervision, simulation lab sessions and independent research under faculty mentorship.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) licence. The usual pathway is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; applicants with an associate degree or diploma in nursing and significant clinical experience may be considered for bridge or advanced-entry pathways depending on prior coursework and institutional policy. Applicants should provide academic transcripts, a professional CV, references (often including at least one clinical reference) and a personal statement outlining career goals.

Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate clinical competence, professional maturity and readiness for graduate-level study. Some concentrations or practicum placements may require background checks, immunisation records and verification of clinical hours.
