What you'll study

The programme combines core modules in accounting and finance with optional topics and an independent research or consultancy project. Core subjects typically cover financial reporting and analysis, management accounting and performance measurement, corporate finance and valuation, and empirical/quantitative research methods for finance. You will also study aspects of auditing, corporate governance, financial institutions and markets, and advanced topics in financial management.

Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, workshops and case-based learning, with assessment made up of examinations, coursework, group projects and a substantial dissertation or applied consultancy project. The modular structure allows you to tailor the degree by choosing options such as behavioural finance, taxation, forensic accounting, or international accounting standards.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a good undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, business studies, or a closely related quantitative subject from a recognised university. Graduates with other backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant quantitative skills or relevant professional experience may also be considered.

Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency through a recognised qualification. Admission decisions take a combination of academic transcripts, references and personal statement into account, and interview may be requested in some cases.
