Entry requirements

Applicants normally need a UK honours degree at 2:1 (or international equivalent) in biomedical science, microbiology, medical biosciences, biological sciences or a closely related subject. Candidates with a 2:2 may be considered if they can demonstrate relevant laboratory experience or postgraduate study. Applicants should have substantial laboratory practical experience and an understanding of core microbiological principles.

International applicants whose first language is not English will be asked to provide evidence of English language proficiency; typical requirements are an overall IELTS score around 6.5 with no component substantially below 6.0 or an equivalent qualification. Other acceptable English tests and evidence of previous study in English are also considered.
