A one-year graduate finance degree offered through a 4+1 dual pathway that lets qualified undergraduates progress directly into a specialized master’s year. Suits students with an undergraduate major in finance-related fields who want technical training in investment theory, quantitative analysis and data‑intensive finance.

What you'll study

The curriculum emphasizes advanced technical skills for investment roles, including study in modern investment theory, advanced mathematics and statistics, and data‑intensive analysis. The program provides hands‑on market exposure using the universitys finance lab, which houses more than a dozen Bloomberg Financial Terminals and an LCD ticker tape displaying NASDAQ and NYSE information.

Entry requirements

Students join the dual degree as incoming first‑year undergraduates and must be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate major: business analytics & applied AI, business economics, finance, or financial technology & analytics. To matriculate into the MSFIM year, students must successfully complete the bachelors degree and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for investment and finance roles that require quantitative and market analysis skills. Typical positions cited include asset, private or wealth equity manager; corporate finance officer; equity strategist; financial risk manager; portfolio manager; investment operations analyst; and hedge fund analyst. National data referenced by the program notes projected growth for financial analysts and a median annual wage figure for financial and investment analysts.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

The dual degree can lower overall cost compared with completing a separate masters program because the graduate year is integrated into the five‑year plan. Guaranteed progression (when criteria are met) removes the need for late‑stage graduate applications, and undergraduates have access to advising, faculty and departmental resources while completing the bachelors portion.
