Not an academic course—this section describes the procedural content students must follow:

• How to attempt an informal resolution, including speaking directly with the staff member, supervisor, or department chair when appropriate.
• How to prepare a formal written complaint using the Student Complaint Form, specifying the issue, the university policy or procedure alleged to have been violated, and the remedy sought.
• The university's three-level formal review sequence (Level 1 through Level 3) and the circumstances that allow escalation to each subsequent level.
• External resolution options, including routes through state higher-education authorities, the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the Higher Learning Commission, and NC-SARA guidance for online students.

Entry requirements

There are no academic entry requirements. Any student with a concern not covered by another policy may pursue the informal procedure or submit the Student Complaint Form to begin the formal process.
