What you'll study

This is an administrative service rather than a taught programme; there are no academic modules. Relevant practical information managed by Student Accounts includes issuing electronic billing statements, accepting payments, handling refund requests (after attendance of the first class) and administering aspects of student health insurance enrollment.

Key functions

• Preparation and electronic delivery of student billing statements via Self-Service.
• Monthly notification to students with balances advising them to check Self-Service for amounts due.
• Receipt and processing of payments and refund requests following attendance rules.
• Administration and communication about the student health insurance plan and waiver process.

Entry requirements

Not applicable. Student Accounts is an operational office that serves enrolled students; access to billing information requires an active student record and Self-Service account.

Career prospects

As a university service, Student Accounts itself does not confer a qualification. Familiarity with billing platforms, payment processing and student financial procedures gained through interaction or work experience in such an office can be relevant to roles in higher-education administration, bursar offices, accounts receivable, and student services in other institutions.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Student Accounts handles billing and refunds but does not award scholarships. Students seeking financial aid or scholarship funding should consult the university’s financial aid office. For insured students: full-time undergraduates are automatically enrolled in the university’s major medical student insurance and may opt out by completing the Health Insurance Online Waiver each academic year; waiver deadlines noted by the office are Sept. 28, 2026 for fall and Feb. 8, 2027 for spring.
