Students follow a 135-credit curriculum of 45 courses that blends theoretical foundations with applied skills in accounting and finance. Learning objectives include critical analysis of accounting and financial information, solving business problems in both well- and loosely-defined contexts, undertaking scientific research to address complex challenges, and developing ICT-supported professional communication. Practical exposure includes using LSEG Workspace to prepare for roles in accounting, auditing, investment and financial analysis.
Admission requires a Secondary School Certificate or equivalent certified by Bahrain's Ministry of Education with an average of at least 60%. Applicants with averages below 60% may be considered if they are national athletes/artists who represent Bahrain internationally or have at least one year of practical experience after secondary school; such admissions are capped at 20% of entrants and subject to University Council approval. Applicants from non-scientific secondary tracks must pass departmental remedial courses.
English-language placement is determined by a compulsory university test: scores 0–34 require ENG097 (Elementary), 35–50 require ENG098 (Intermediate), and 51–120 require ENG111 (Upper-Intermediate). Students with IELTS 5.0+ or TOEFL 450+ are exempt from ENG097 and ENG098.
Graduates are prepared for roles such as accountant, auditor, financial analyst, financial manager, investment banker, risk manager, corporate treasurer, tax consultant, financial controller and banking relationship manager. The ACCA exemptions and hands-on tool experience aim to accelerate professional certification and improve employability in accounting, auditing, finance and related sectors.
Tuition is structured around credit hours; the programme notes an estimated per-credit fee and semester fees, and tuition is payable each semester in three instalments. Partial academic excellence scholarships are available for the first semester only: 30% for high school averages 95–100% and 15% for averages 90–94.9%.
