Applicants need a Secondary School Certificate (or equivalent) certified by Bahrain’s Ministry of Education with a minimum average of 60%.

  • Candidates with averages below 60% may be admitted if they are classed as talented (e.g., athletes, entrepreneurs, inventors, internationally representing artists), or have at least one year of relevant practical experience after secondary school, or receive special admission by the University Council. Admissions under these alternate routes must not exceed 20% of entrants.
  • Admission is limited to those holding a High School Certificate — Scientific Track or equivalent. Transfer students are considered according to university bachelor degree bylaws.
  • All admitted students must take the compulsory university English test: scores 0–34 require ENG097 (Elementary English); 35–50 require ENG098 (Intermediate English); exemption from ENG097/ENG098 is granted for test scores 51 or higher, IELTS Band 5.0 or higher, or TOEFL 450 or higher.
