A two-year, full-time Arabic-language master's that develops advanced analytical, research and managerial skills in accounting and financial management. Suited to graduates aiming for leadership, academic or research roles in accounting and finance who want either a thesis or applied-project route.

What you'll study

The programme covers specialised theories, contemporary issues and research methodologies in accounting and finance with the aim of preparing students to analyse financial and non-financial information and to devise solutions for business problems. Students choose either a thesis route (9 courses + thesis) or an applied-project route (10 courses + project) to satisfy the 36-credit requirement.

Entry requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a Ministry of Education–recognised institution in Bahrain.
  • Undergraduate degree must be in the same specialisation or a qualifying discipline; otherwise remedial courses specified by the department are required.
  • Minimum GPA: at least the equivalent of ‘Good’. Cases below this are referred to the Appeals Committee.
  • Pass an interview conducted by the academic department and any required departmental tests.
  • Submit two recommendation letters, preferably one from an academic staff member of the graduating university.
  • Pass the University’s English placement test or provide TOEFL (or equivalent) with a score of at least 450; otherwise complete a remedial English course in the first year.
  • Transfer students accepted per the Graduate Studies Regulations.

Scholarships & funding angle

Tuition is structured by credit hours across two semesters. The university offers partial scholarships: 10% for new applicants (first semester only) and 20% for Applied Science University graduates during their first academic year. Additional fees, semester registration charges and instalment schedules are specified by the university.
