What you'll study

The programme totals 36 credit hours delivered through either nine taught courses plus a thesis or ten taught courses plus an applied project. Course work and the final research or applied project are designed to build systematic knowledge across business specialisations, develop critical analytical capacity, and train students in applied research relevant to business challenges.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an institution recognised by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Undergraduate study should be in the same specialisation or a qualifying discipline; otherwise the department will specify remedial courses. The minimum admission standard is a cumulative GPA of not less than ‘Good’ (or equivalent). Candidates must pass an interview by the academic department and any departmentally required tests, and submit two recommendation letters (one preferably from academic staff at the graduating university). Applicants must pass the university English placement test or provide a TOEFL (or equivalent) score of at least 450; otherwise a remedial English course must be completed in the first year. Cases with GPA below ‘Good’ are referred to the Appeals Committee. Transfer students are accepted under the Graduate Studies Regulations.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Tuition is structured around the 36-credit programme. The published estimate gives a per-credit-hour fee of 144.2 BD. Semester tuition examples list 1,297.8 BD per semester and a total of 2,595.6 BD for the academic year, with a semester registration fee of 250 BD. Tuition is paid in three instalments each semester (on registration, before mid-terms and before finals). Summer enrolment is optional; summer credit-hour rate is the same (144.2 BD) with a maximum of 6 credits and a summer registration fee of 125 BD. Additional and refundable fees are governed by the university’s Tuition Fees, Refund and Collection Policy.
