What you'll study

The programme blends traditional geography topics—such as geomorphology, climatology, urban geography and GIS—with business-focused subjects including management, marketing, economics and entrepreneurship. Teaching uses a mix of lectures, seminars, practical laboratory and fieldwork, group projects and case studies to develop analytical, quantitative and communication skills.

Typical first-year modules introduce key geographic concepts, research methods and basic business principles. In later years you choose optional modules to tailor the degree: options commonly include environmental management, urban and regional planning, transport and logistics, consumer behaviour, strategic management, and business ethics. Practical GIS and spatial analysis are embedded across the programme, and students undertake research projects or a dissertation in their final year that combine geographic and business perspectives.

Fieldwork is an integral part of the course, ranging from local day trips to multi-day residentials and optional overseas study trips. Opportunities also exist to take a placement year or study abroad through established international partnerships, extending real-world experience and employability.
