The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering covers core engineering fundamentals alongside specialised computer engineering subjects. Early years focus on mathematics, physics and foundational computing, progressing to digital logic, microprocessors, computer architecture, operating systems and data structures. Later-year modules emphasise embedded systems, digital signal processing, VLSI and hardware description languages, computer networks, cybersecurity principles, software engineering and systems integration.

The programme typically includes laboratory-based courses in electronic circuits, microcontroller and FPGA development, network and security labs, and programming projects using languages such as C/C++ and Python. A final-year capstone design project integrates hardware and software and is often conducted in collaboration with industry; students are also encouraged to complete internships to gain workplace experience.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a recognised secondary school qualification with strong performance in mathematics and physics. Acceptable qualifications include national high school diplomas with relevant subject passes, GCE A-levels with mathematics and a science subject, or the International Baccalaureate with appropriate higher-level subjects.

Non-native English speakers must demonstrate English proficiency through recognised tests or equivalent qualifications accepted by the university. Applicants who do not meet direct-entry requirements may be eligible for a foundation programme or preparatory pathway. Admission decisions also consider academic transcripts, personal statements and, where applicable, relevant extracurricular experience in STEM.
