What you'll study

The Bachelor of Laws covers core legal subjects and practical skill development. You will study foundational topics such as contract law, torts, criminal law, constitutional and administrative law, property law and obligations. Core skills units develop legal research and writing, statutory interpretation, advocacy, negotiation and client interviewing.

Beyond the compulsory core, the program typically offers elective subjects allowing specialisation in areas such as commercial and corporate law, family law, environmental and planning law, Indigenous peoples and the law, taxation, intellectual property, international law and human rights. Entry requirements

Entry to the Bachelor of Laws is competitive and delivered through standard university admissions pathways. Typical entry routes include completion of secondary school (senior secondary certificate) with an appropriate rank or an equivalent qualification from another tertiary institution. Mature-age applicants and those with relevant work experience may be considered under alternative entry schemes.

Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency through an approved English language test or equivalent qualification.
