This is not an academic course; instead SAC work centers on determining and arranging accommodations. Activities include intake meetings, reviewing documentation relevant to a student’s functional limitations, issuing instructor accommodation letters, and coordinating housing modifications in partnership with Residence Life.

Entry requirements

Students seeking services begin by completing an online request form (Academic or Housing Accommodations Request Form). After submission, SAC schedules an intake meeting with the director to discuss needs and the reasonableness of requested accommodations. Applicants are asked to provide supporting documentation when available—examples include recent IEPs, 504 plans, healthcare verification forms or documentation from a medical specialist not related to the student. New and returning students must follow stated deadlines for housing requests; returning students must renew housing accommodations annually.

The SAC is an accommodation and student-support service rather than a credential program. Interaction with SAC can enable students to complete degree programs and campus activities by removing barriers; employment outcomes depend on the student’s chosen academic major and professional preparation.
