What you'll study

The award comprises six standard units (144 points). Students take three foundational units drawn from at least three of the following fields: Humanities (Field A), Biblical Studies (Field B), Christian Thought and History (Field C), and Theology: Mission and Ministry (Field D), plus a further three units. Units scheduled for delivery are published by the college for each study year.

Where a student’s first language is not English, the college’s Admissions Policy sets out required English language proficiency. Australian Lutheran College applies credit transfer and recognition of prior learning (RPL) in line with its Credit Policy.

Career prospects

Graduates gain knowledge of theological sources, terms and concepts and develop research, analysis and communication abilities applicable to theological studies. They also acquire interpretive and hermeneutical skills for applying theological insight to historical or contemporary issues, enabling clear articulation of perspectives relevant to Christian practice, identity, life, work and community.
