What you'll study

Coursework and cohort discussions concentrate on evidence-based, culturally responsive practices for instructing multilingual learners. Participants will learn strategies and knowledge that are intended to be immediately applicable in K–12 classrooms and other educational settings. The program emphasizes reflective practitioner development and advocacy for multilingual students.

Entry requirements

Applicants create an account and complete an application. Required supporting documents include a copy of a Washington State Teaching Certificate and official transcripts, which should be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Antioch University Seattle admissions. After documents are submitted, an admissions counselor schedules an informal interview/information session; admission is decided following that interview. Note: Antioch is not accepting applications for 2025 while the curriculum is updated; those interested may express interest in a July 2026 cohort. Application deadline information: Program begins in the summer quarter, with a typical application deadline of June 15 and classes starting in the first week of July.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Antioch notes most students use some form of financial aid across its programs, but this particular certificate is not currently eligible for federal financial aid. Current quarter-credit tuition is listed as $482/credit; additional institutional fees may apply (materials, registration, enrollment maintenance, parking, etc.). Prospective students should consult admissions and financial aid staff for guidance on alternative funding, private scholarships, and loan options.
