What you'll study

The curriculum covers both agricultural systems and core business disciplines. Topics and skills include:

Research Project: students register a project in the second year, supervised by an approved academic. There is a minimum of 40 hours of supervisor consultation. The written dissertation is 80% of the project mark and the presentation 20%; assessment is by two examiners and the Faculty Board determines the final project mark. Passing Agribusiness Research Methods is a precondition to register for the research project.

Entry requirements

• Normal entry: minimum of five O-level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject. Candidates with an O-level Mathematics grade E must pass a University Mathematics Foundation course and must have O-level Mathematics before graduation.
• Special entry: National Certificate in Agriculture, Environmental Management, Marketing or other relevant qualification approved by the University Senate.
• Mature entry: aged 23 or older with at least two years of relevant industrial experience.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles across private and public sectors, including farm enterprise management, agribusiness company roles (management, marketing, sales), food processing (quality control, supply chain), agricultural input suppliers, export/import trade and logistics, and positions in government ministries, extension services, research institutions, regulatory bodies and NGOs. The programme also supports entrepreneurship (starting farms, processing or input supply businesses), consultancy, and roles in agricultural finance, international organisations and agricultural media.

The course documentation does not specify scholarships. Prospective students should enquire with the university's financial aid office about institutional scholarships, government funding, bursaries from agribusiness firms, or external scholarships and loans that target agricultural education and rural development.
