What you'll study

The curriculum builds a strategic IT–business foundation in year one and advances to governance, project management and a consultancy-focused thesis in year two. Core topics include information planning, information literacy, analytics, security and enterprise technologies, with research and emerging topics in the later stage.

  • Semester 1 modules: IT5010 Advanced Learning and Study Skills (2 credits); IE5013 Business Process Management (3); IE5023 IT for Strategic Planning (3); IE5032 Information Security Risk Management and Audit (3); elective IT5050 Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing (3).
  • Semester 2 modules: IT5120 Data Analytics (3); IE5083 Enterprise Application and Relationship Management (3); IE5073 Business Forecasting (4); IT5090 Research Methodology (3); electives IE5031 Organizational Behavior (4) or IE5063 Social Computing (3).

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following: a 4-year BSc honours in Information Management or related field; a 3-year BSc with at least one year of relevant post-qualifying professional experience; a 4-year honours degree with at least one year of relevant professional experience; or an equivalent 4-year qualification and/or professional-body academic-route membership with a minimum of two years' relevant professional experience. Admissions decisions allow for acceptability as determined by the institute.
